Kleven Maritime has signed a contract with Rem Offshore to build one LNG-powered offshore vessel of the VS 499 LNG design.
The vessel will have a length of 89.6m, breadth of 21m, deck space of 1030m² and dead weight of around 6,500t.
The four-engine dual propulsion vessel will be environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient and of the Light ice Class (Ice C), equipped for oil recovery and rescue missions.
The company did not disclose the contract price but said the new contract increases Kleven Maritime's order backlog to nine vessels, making it worth NKr3.3bn ($628.29m).
The PSV will be delivered from the Kleven Verft shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway, in December 2012.
Kleven Verft is currently building a pair of vessels for Rem Offshore and has previously delivered 11 ships to the company. |
