Shipping advised to comply with relevant NAVAREA warnings off Japan

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has issued a circular letter advising shipmasters to comply with the latest navigational warnings issued by the NAVAREA XI Coordinator (Japan), in the wake of damage to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.

The circular letter notes that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan has confirmed that, at present, all international sea ports not damaged by the 11 March earthquake, and the resulting tsunami, operate normally and, based on the results of measurements of radiation levels by local governments, no health risk has been detected around the ports

在日本福岛第一核电站毁坏之后，国际海事组织发出了一项通知劝告船长们遵从由NAVAREA XI协调员最新发布的航海警告。
这项通知指出，日本国土交通部已证实，目前，所有的国际海运港口均未遭到3月11日地震和由地震引发的海啸的破坏，一切运作正常，并且根据当地政府测量辐射等级的结果来看，港口周围没有检测到危及健康的风险。
