SVITZER to recruit a Marine Engineer as owner's representative
SVITZER is a member of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. SVITZER has 4.000 employees and a fleet of more than 500 vessels, and we provide towage, salvage and related marine services in over 35 countries worldwide. The SVITZER purpose is to provide safety and support at sea. With our fleet renewal and expansion program we have a number of new tugs on order to be built in Qingdao and Zhenjiang.
We are now looking for a Marine Engineer as owner’s representative.
The Marine Engineer will report to the Newbuilding Project Manager, and the Engineer’s responsibilities include:
1.To familiarize with Svitzer Newbuilding Manual.
2.To familiarize with newbuilding specifications for all on-going projects.
3. To farmiliarize with class and flagstate requirements and keep up to date with new regulations if any.
4. To check all the drawings from designer are complying with specification and regulations.
5.To perform patrolling and scheduled inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and the vessels are built according to approved drawings.
6.To attend tests and trials as required during the newbuilding process.
And we require qualities as below
1. Must have shipbuilding experience for a foreign owners
2. Must be English speaking
3. Must have an understanding of Lloyd's rules
4. Minimum 10 years’ experience on a similar position
